In short: GeoCake is free and made for playing. Share your results as much as you like, but don’t copy the site or its games. We do our best to get the data right, but there may be mistakes.
1. What GeoCake is
GeoCake (geocake.app) is a geography games site by Tomás Piola, based in Argentina. By using the site you accept these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.
2. Using the site
- The games are free and for personal, non-commercial use.
- You can share your results (the "Copy result" text), screenshots and links to GeoCake anywhere you like.
- You may not copy the site or its games to publish them elsewhere, download its content automatically (bots or scrapers), or try to damage, overload or bypass how the site works.
3. Content and ownership
The GeoCake name, logo, design, texts and the format of the games (such as CakeFlag, CakeGrid or GeoFacts) belong to Tomás Piola. Geographic data, flags and maps come from third parties and keep their own licenses, listed in Sources and credits.
4. Data and accuracy
The data comes from public sources and we review it, but it may contain errors or be out of date. GeoCake is a game: don’t use its information for academic, professional or any other decisions. The names, borders and list of countries don’t express any political position. If you spot a mistake, let us know.
5. Stats and streaks
Your stats, streaks and records are stored only in your browser. If you clear the site’s data, switch devices or your browser deletes them, they are lost and we can’t recover them.
6. Availability and changes
We may change, pause or stop offering any game or part of the site at any time and without notice. The site is provided "as is", with no guarantee that it will always work or be error-free. To the extent permitted by law, Tomás Piola is not liable for damages arising from the use of the site or the inability to use it.
7. Privacy
Which data is used and how is described in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The current version is always the one published on this page, with its update date.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Argentine Republic. If you are a consumer, this doesn’t take away the rights the laws of your country give you.
